The following eight performances, the only
recordings by Don Albert and His Orchestra, "America's Greatest
Swing Band," were made on November 18, 1936, at the Bluebonnet
Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, for the Vocalion label. They were
issued to the public on four 10-inch, 78 R.P.M. discs beginning
in February 1937. Despite favorable reviews by Paul Eduard Miller
in Downbeat and Leonard Feather in Melody Maker,
the band never recorded again. These historic recordings are
no longer commercially available: they may be heard only on this
web site. On the Sunny Side of the Street
